Cheque Presentation.

Profits from the sale of the book "A Taste of Jewish Northampton" during the 125th anniversary celebrations of the community in 2013 were presented to Cynthia Spencer Hospice. Attending the handover was Michael Ellis MP and the mayor Cllr John Caswell.

Garden Party

About 50 people attended our annual garden party at the home of John and Michele Dub. We were blessed with a warm and sunny afternoon when we feasted on a variety of sandwiches scones and cakes produced by members of our Ladies Guild. 
A special visit by a soft-whip ice cream van was a highlight plus the chance to win a selection of prizes in the raffle. Additionally there were a number of naming games and items to purchase from the bring and buy table.

125th Anniversary of our community

The Chief Rabbi Ephraim Mirvis attended a celebratory service.
Other special guests included the Mayor of Northampton, local MP's
the Leader of Northampton Borough Council and many members
past and present.

"Long Gone - but not Forgotten"


A full year after the reburial of their remains, the memorial stone to three Northampton Medieval Jews was dedicated by Rev Malcolm Weisman the minister for small communities. More than thirty people attended the ceremony and afterwards returned to the shul for refreshments and an entertaining talk by Rev Weisman on Jewish humour.

Northampton Inter Faith Forum (NIFF) Jewish Wedding

18th October 2010

As our contribution to the Northampton Inter Faith Forum (NIFF) week members of the community enacted a typical Jewish wedding.
The doors to the synagogue were opened to more than 60 non members from a variety of faiths that were fascinated by the ‘ceremony’. This was followed by a reception of tea and biscuits.

Len Shulman's birthday party

Honorary Life President Len Shulman celebrated his 90th birthday recently.  The synagogue marked this occasion by dedicating the upstairs room at the shul to him.  To mark this special day a birthday tea was held in the synagogue.  The tea was well attended and an excellent time had by all.

Chief Rabbi's Visit

On Sunday May 3rd 2009 our community was honoured with an informal visit to the synagogue Overstone Road by the Chief Rabbi Sir Jonathan Sacks and Lady Sacks. This was the first visit by a Chief Rabbi to Northampton in over 20 years.
